INDRA PRASAD SAPKOTA, PhD was born on 22 nd February, 1970. He has continuously been affiliated with the Ministry of Forests and Environment (Nepal Government and Provincial Government) since 1995. He served as the District Forest Officer in FIVE districts of Nepal. He has earned the PhD degree in Forest Management from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in 2009. He graduated with the MSc. degree in Tropical Forestry from Technical University of Dresden in 2003. He has published more than a dozen of research articles in several Journals of international repute. He also has contributed in publishing nearly two dozens of policy documents, while working as a chief of policy section at Ministry, District Forest Officer, Provincial Director and Several Policy Taskforce. His interests lie in linking the forest biodiversity with the Sustainable Development Goals to which Nepal aims to achieve. He has contributed in crafting the forest policy – 2015, Forestry Sector Strategy – 2016 while holding a position of Member-Secretary of the Ministry’s Policy Taskforce. Currently, he holds a position of Province Secretary at Ministry of Tourism, Forests and Environment for Koshi Province.
